Missoula County strongly opposes SB 248 – Revise laws regarding exempt wells and family transfer parcels, on the House floor this afternoon. The bill incentivizes evasion of the Subdivision and Platting Act and jeopardizes water availability for senior water right holders in the vicinity of family transfers. Senior water right holders should be protected from unregulated development of water resources. SB 248 threatens those protections.
