I don't see a need for the County to weigh in; however, it may be beneficial to send this off to Matt Jennings at the County Attorney's Office as he works with Rural Fire Departments. I don't think he will have a different perspective in terms of the County weighing in; however, it would be good to make sure the Rural Fire Districts are aware of this proposed legislation.
Yes, overall its beneficial to protect volunteers and for recruitment, but the County probably is not the best entity to weigh in. I don’t really understand the addition to (2). Seems unnecessary to me.
