Missoula County supports HB 264 - Revise laws related to adverse childhood experiences before House Human Services this afternoon. HB 264 would support the work that Missoula County is already doing to create trauma-informed/ACE informed programs, and would provide a funding stream to expand this work. The home visiting strategies HB 264 would fund are already being adopted in Missoula County as best practices for preventing substance use, teen pregnancy, as well as promoting academic success in children and family economic stability. It would also encourage state programs to develop ACE-informed policies, which would benefit the many citizens of Montana that have experienced trauma.
