  1. Missoula County supports SB 63 – Revise laws related to supervision of offenders/defendants, on the Senate floor this afternoon, and thanks Senator Wolken for sponsoring this legislation. SB 63 provides enhanced tools to the Department of Corrections related to the supervision of offenders currently serving a portion of their sentences in communities. Missoula County believes these tools will help to address issues related to jail overcrowding that currently occur in Missoula County by providing probation and parole officers additional tools when working with offenders. Missoula County believes that the incentives and interventions described in the bill will allow the Department of Corrections to increase their success in working with offenders.
