  1. Strongly support. Victims of sex crimes often struggle with reporting the crime, in particular when they are children at the time of the assault. The trauma is so great, that it can take many years to effectively report. This change improves access to the criminal justice system for these victims.

    Missoula County strongly supports SB 30 – revise laws related to criminal statute of limitations before Senate Judiciary tomorrow morning. We thank [you,]Senator Sands[,] for carrying this bill. Victims of crimes often struggle with reporting the crime, in particular when they are children at the time of assault. The trauma is so overwhelming that it can take many years for the victim to effectively report the assault. This change improves access to the criminal justice system for victims.
