  1. Per Jerry Marks: I visited with Cecil Tharp, MSU Extension Pesticide Specialist, who coordinates the farm pesticide applicator certification program. Section 8 of HB126 increases the permit fee for farm applicators from $50 to $60. The $15 to the Montana Department of Agriculture for administering the permitting aspect of the program which stays the same. $5 to MSU Extension Service for the farm pesticide applicator certification training programs which stays the same. An increase from $15 to $25 that goes to MSU Extension Service to conduct farm pesticide applicator certification training programs at the local level. Currently the $15 collected goes into subaccounts, an account for each county Extension Office to provide funding for these training programs. The increase to $25 will provide additional funding at the county level plus provide funding additional needs such as training for the Indian Reservation pesticide training programs . The accounts for each county Extension office thru MSU Extension would continue. And there is $15 of the $60 that goes to the Montana Department of Agriculture for pesticide and pesticide container collection, disposal and recycling.

Since the plans for the operation of this program stays the same , the wording in this section of HB126 is okay.
