  1. Strongly support. When a child is conceived as a result of a rape, the offender should not be granted parental rights. If a victim is forced to share custody with her attacker, it can cause new trauma for years and years.

    Missoula County strongly supports SB 22 - Revise laws re termination of parental rights when child is a result of rape before Senate Judiciary tomorrow morning. Missoula’s Relationship Violence Services division believes that when a child is conceived as a result of a rape, the offender should not be granted parental rights. Trauma can be caused for years if a victim is forced to share custody with their attacker.
