  2. Missoula County strongly supports HB 146 Revising temporary road block laws. Emergency Responders often respond to automobile accidents along Montana's highways and interstates, these are some of the most dangerous scenes for first responders due to the high rate of vehicle speed and the inability of drivers to always see the whole road. The expansion of authority for law enforcement officers to enact temporary road blocks during these response will enhance the safety of first responders.

    Missoula County supports HB 146 – Revising temporary road block laws, before House Transportation this afternoon. Emergency responders often respond to automobile accidents along Montana’s highways and interstates. These are some of the most dangerous scenes for first responders due to the high rate of vehicle speed and drivers’ inability to see the entire roadway. The expansion of authority for law enforcement officers to enact temporary road blocks during response situations will enhance safety for both the responders and drivers.
