Per Barbara Berens: The bill mostly increases the threshold for payment of prevailing wages on construction contracts from $25,000 to $55,000 (the $25,000 threshold has been in place since at least 1995). An increase to $55,000 seems reasonable and would lessen the compliance burden on some number of county construction contacts. Most of ours are greater than $55,000 anyway, so the bill won't have much impact on county operations.
