Missoula County supports HB 383- Provide actuarial required funding for Sheriff’s Retirement System – in House State Administration today. HB 383 begins to address the unfunded liability that exists in the Sheriff’s retirement system. The deficit in the various state retirement systems are shared by local governments and are required to be reported in the County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR.) Providing an actuarially sound retirement system is a responsibility shared by local and state government.
