  1. Sent this morning, February 10th:

    Representative Ellie Hill Smith,

Missoula County supports HB 333 – Adopt the Help Save Lives from Overdose Act – in House Human Services today. Overdoses by opioids is a growing problem facing the State of Montana and has a direct impact on services provided by local governments by increasing the number of calls for service by local law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel. HB 333 helps to address this problem by allowing for the prescription of opioid antagonists to individuals for immediate administration, which has been shown to have immediate lifesaving effects. The use of these medications carry a low risk while providing a high benefit and can result in fewer calls for service for emergency responders. Please support HB 333.

    Respectfully,
Vickie Zeier on behalf of the Missoula County Commission
