    We support this bill which mandates the continuation of the prescription drug registry for 2 additional years. This registry allows health care professionals access to patients’ narcotic fills across the state to prevent patients being prescribed multiple narcotics by multiple providers. This is a safety measure for patients, and helps in the prescription drug addiction prevention effort.

    Missoula County supports SB 56 - Revised sunset dates related to funding of prescription drug registry before Senate Business, Labor, and Economic Affairs Thursday morning. This bill will mandate the continuation of the prescription drug registry for two additional years. The registry allows health care professionals across the state to access patients' narcotic fills, preventing patients from being prescribed multiple narcotics by multiple providers. This is a proven safety measure for patients and helps in the prescription drug addiction prevention effort.
